Job Description
Constance Lemuria, a luxurious resort in the Seychelles, is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Head Sommelier to join our esteemed food and beverage team. In this role, you will work closely with the Head Sommelier to curate and manage our extensive wine collection, enhance our guests' dining experiences, and lead our talented team of sommeliers.

Assist in managing and developing the resort's wine program, including selection, purchasing, and inventory control

Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative food and wine pairings for various dining outlets

Train and mentor junior sommeliers, fostering their professional growth and expertise

Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for both guests and staff

Ensure impeccable service standards and guest satisfaction in all wine-related interactions

Maintain and organize the wine cellar, ensuring proper storage and rotation of inventory

Stay current with wine industry trends, new vintages, and emerging wine regions

Assist in creating and updating wine lists, including digital menus and promotional materials

Support the Head Sommelier in budget management and cost control measures

Participate in wine-related events and represent the resort at industry functions
Qualifications

Advanced Sommelier Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent prestigious organization

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a sommelier in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel setting

Extensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, production methods, and food pairing principles

Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with guests from diverse backgrounds

Proficiency in wine cellar management software and inventory control systems

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a luxury hospitality environment

Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
