We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance & Operations Manager to join our US team and support our long-term growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing wine importation, distribution, and sales (e.g., TTB, FDA, CBP, state alcohol boards).
  • Prepare, file, and maintain required permits, licenses, and reports (COLAs, import permits, excise tax filings, FDA Prior Notices, customs documentation).
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, legal advisors, and customs brokers.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on compliance risks and requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

 

Administrative & Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative operations, including contract management, record-keeping, and vendor coordination.
  • Supervise and optimize logistics workflows (import documentation, shipping, warehousing, distribution).
  • Coordinate with finance teams on inventory reporting, excise tax calculations, and compliance-related accounting.
  • Maintain accurate product data, certifications, and documentation for all imported wines.
  • Support sales and marketing teams by providing compliance guidance for promotions, labels, and packaging.

 

Leadership & Strategic Support:

  • Partner with senior management to identify risks and opportunities related to compliance and operations.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning for business expansion into new markets or states.
  • Represent the company in industry associations, compliance forums, and trade organizations.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $80,000/year (gross)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 15 days in the first year, increasing to 20 days starting from the second year of employment.
  • Retirement Plan: 401(k).
  • Work Environment: Primarily home office, based in New York, NY.
