Job Description
 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intern commis Sommelier to join our luxury resort in , Maldives. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to develop your wine knowledge and service skills in a world-class tropical setting.

• Assist the Head Sommelier in daily wine service operations
• Help maintain and organise the wine cellar and inventory
• Participate in wine tastings and training sessions to expand product knowledge
• Assist in creating and updating wine lists
• Provide wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience
• Support the food and beverage team during service hours
• Learn about wine and food pairings to complement our diverse menu offerings
• Contribute to the overall guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional service

Qualifications
 

• Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 or 2 certification is preferred
• Basic knowledge of wine regions, grape varieties, and wine production methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
• Team-oriented with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service
• Basic food and beverage service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, luxury resort environment
• Willingness to learn and grow in the field of wine and hospitality
• Adaptability to work in a tropical climate and island setting
