My interest in the world of wine started in 2011, when I joined the PREMIVM FP7 project as a researcher. The goal of this EU financed international project was to create a small, portable instrument, able to assess the phenolic ripeness of grapes in the vineyards through optical parameters. My role in the project was the establishment of a correlation library between the analytical (HPLC-measured) and optical (spectrophotometric) values, which was the operating principle of the device. |
My two greatest passions are wine and gastronomy and I recently passed the WSET level 3 with Merit. Wine related publication: Šebela D, Turóczy Z, Olejníčková J, Kumšta M, Sotolař R: Effect of ambient sunlight-intensity on the temporal phenolic profiles of Vitis vinifera cv. Chardonnay during ripening season-a field study, South African Journal of Enology and Viticulture, 38 (1): 94-102. |
