6-month internship in wine and spirits industry

CV en ligne depuis le : Mercredi 11 avril 2018

FORMATION

En cours depuis 2017 MSc Wine and Spirits Management (KEDGE BUSINESS SCHOOL)
International Marketing Trends, Strategic Marketing; Supply Chain, etc
Ecole ou centre de formation privé
  Bac+5(master/ingénieur/DNO)
The curriculum could be divided roughly into four parts: wine and spirits culture (vineyards, history, winemaking), wine and spirits marketing situations and trends, skills about sales and negotiation in the industry, and basic information of economics, finance and international laws.
2013/2017 Bachelor of Engineering - BE
  Major: Viticulture and Oenology Engineering
  Université ou école publiques
  Bac+4 (maîtrise,M1 )
I majored in Viticulture and Oenology Engineering at China Agricultural University. I have learned basic courses (Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.), professional basic courses (Wine Chemistry, Wine Microbiology, etc.) and professional major courses (Sensory Evaluation of Wine, Grape Pest and Disease Control, Quality Control of Wine, etc.) for 2 academic years

EXPERIENCE

du 09/2016 au 11/2016 Winemaking Apprentice
  Chateau Changyu Afip
  Chai / Vinification
I had an internship experience in Chateau Changyu in Beijing, where I learned winemaking skills. We followed and worked through the process of the grapes selection, destemming and crushing, fermentation, clarification, MLF and oak barrels ageing. We experienced the winemaking season after harvest in 2016. It is more difficult than I imagined to apply what I learned from the books. For example, a winemaker needs to control the fermentation temperature to develop the flavors and structure as he wants, which needs more experience than academic knowledge.
du 09/2016 au 11/2016 Part-time Wine Tour Guide
  Chateau Changyu Afip in Beijing
  Œnotourisme
During the apprenticeship in Chateau Changyu Afip, I did a part-time job there as a English-speaking tour guide for foreign visitors, introducing basic information about this Chateau. It is my first time as a chateau tour guide. I found the interests to introduce beautiful scenery and charming wine to others, which is kind of recommendation and sharing. It is something from which I can find happiness. However, wine tourism is not a popular and developed industry in China, because we lack of enough wineries and wine lovers. Hence, if I could work in such a region where there is a great wine tour atmosphere, it will be a memorable experience in my life. I will try my best to help the company to reach more customers and dig more interesting strategies.
du 07/2016 au 07/2016 Vineyard Apprentice
  Shangzhuang Experiment Station in Beijing
  Viticulture
Because my Bachelor degree is the study of viticulture and oenology, the apprentice internship is beneficial to apply what I learned from academic courses to the vineyards. Shorter than one grape growing season is not enough and I know I need more time contacting with grapes, but it gave me a perceptual experience about viticulture, which I think could help a lot in wine tourism, marketing and management. Only if you know more about how wine is made, you will have more deep feeling when tasting, sharing with others and then achieve greater businesses.

PROJET PROFESSIONNEL

I am a native Chinese speaker, and will graduate from KEDGE Business School (MSc Wine and Spirits Management) next year. I have the knowledge both in wine management and viticulture, applying for a 6-month internship in wine and spirits marketing, business or oenotourism industry from 7th May 2018. Linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/taceyliu . I would surely like to work about Chinese affair, contributing to the expansion to Chinese market and also the relationship with Chinese consumers.

CENTRE D'INTERETS

In KEDGE, I have studied the relevant knowledge about wine and spirits management and marketing, and got overviews of international wine and spirits industry. I majored in Viticulture and Oenology Engineering for Bachelor Degree. The internship period of time is flexible. Generally speaking, I can start asap. But I still have several classes, so I can only start full-time from 7 May.
