Viticulturist |
Opus One is seeking a Viticulturist to work directly with the Winemaker in all viticultural efforts, both conceptual and practical, to make wines that are recognized as classic.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Vineyard Manager to supervise all activities in the vineyards, insisting on the highest quality fruit and an emphatic attention to detail.
The position also supervises the Production Assistant.
A deep understanding of the principles of viticulture that guide Opus One and a good foundation in winemaking are essential. B.S. or equivalent in Viticulture and Enology required.
Three to five years’ experience in an ultra-premium grape growing environment required. Fluency in French and/or Spanish desired.
Enology background including wine evaluation (sensory and analytical) preferred.
